Handmade Jewelry

Today, I woke up feeling very creative. I have no idea why I was feeling like that but it felt great. I made 3 pieces. The inspirations came from the movie avatar, a peacock feather and Egyptian art. For those of you who have not seen the movie, Please see it! It's the best (my honest opinion). Here are the pictures.

Avatar movie inspired - Ring

Peacock feather inspired - Necklace

Egyptian art inspired - Bracelet

That's all for now! Had a very creative Saturday, very satisfied that I made something. My favorite is the Avatar inspired ring.

Which one do you like best? I would love to hear your thoughts!

Beads hual & stuff I made with them!

Today, I got off school quite early because I had my 2nd test and guess what I passed! After that I went to my usual bead shop in Chinatown and went crazy buying beads and supplies. I love making my own fashion accessories, It not only saves money it adds color to my wardrobe. Making things/handwork makes me calm as I am quite an impatient person at times. It also helps me create things that shows my style and personality. I am a very picky person when it comes to food, fashion and people. Anyways, here are pictures of the things I bought and made today.

These are the things I made!

Deporting & pressing eyeshadows

I have finally gotten around to deport my NYX eyeshadows. I did press my MAC pigments too. I followed the following Youtube video tutorials.

Here are my deported NYX eyeshadows.

Here are the pictures for the MAC pigment that were pressed

I used a Singapore 50 cents coin to do the final press. You can see the impressions of the coin.

That's all for now.

Sewing project: McCall M5050

Yay! Another pattern completed. I had this fabric in my stash for more than 4 years. I finally managed to get the name of this fabric too. It's satin. This pattern was so easy to make. The only issue was the fabric, it was difficult to handle. Satin is known for it's slippery characteristic.Nevertheless, I love this top very much.

I did shorten this pattern by 10 cm. I think I will make another one without any shortening or any alteration soon.

Here are the pictures.

Closer look at the waist casing. I had to use the blue bias tape as that was what I had at home.

Hope you guys like it.

Sewing project: Self drafted pattern

This is the self drafted top I made with the earlier bought fabric. It has been a long time since I did pattern drafting. I think I have to practice it more and understand my own body shape better. I know it looks not too fashionable but practice makes perfect. It took me two afternoons to make this top including the drafting.

I hope that anyone out there who is also into pattern drafting could help me out by recommending a good pattern drafting book. I really want to learn more techniques in terms of drafting for different types of body shapes. It would be greatly appreciated! :)

Again, I am not very pleased with the drafting. Nontheless, the construction of the top was satisfactory. However, I am glad I attempted this. As they say practice makes perfect!

Fabric haul!

Look at what I got for S$11.00! Bought them at a market when I went shopping for groceries. This guy had a small booth selling fabric. They were not the top of the line kinda fabric but good enough for practicing sewing and stuff. All are printed cotton.

Here are the pictures.

I will post a self drafted blouse made with one of the above fabric. So stay tuned for that.

That's all for now!

Sewing project: Simplicity 2939

This is a top I made many month ago last year. Totally forgot that I even made this. It turned out quite good actually. I used a printed cotton fabric. It was very easy to work with. The instructions of the pattern were so easy to follow. Since I live in a sunny island like Singapore, this top was comfort. Easy breezy, great for the summers for those who experience the different seasons.

I had a little problem making the pleat but now I know how to keep them in place. I will use scotch tape. That way it will not move. The invisible zipper was a bit tricky too but I think it was my faulty zipper attachment. I have finally bought another one.

Here are some pictures.
