Review : KissMySass Cosmetics (Independent company)

I bought the Youtubers/Bloggers review samples so that I could try out the items. I heard about this company from other bloggers and I really was interested in trying out the highly pigmented eyeshadows and blush. Not a huge fan of the lip mixer however this is because I got the wrong color that just didn't work on my skin tone.

Here are the swatches and don't forget to watch the video review.

Bead embroidery.... My new hobby!

I have started another hobby, bead embroidery. I love it. So therapeutic.

Don't mind my glossy face... I was too absorbed beading!

It all started when I was browsing for handmade jewelry on Etsy. OMG, there are so many talented beings on there. I was absolutely mesmerized by the lovely work some have done with bead embroidery. Started doing some research about it and that's how it started. I had most on the material in my stash that I have been collecting for the past ten years. So it made it even easier to start a project.

I have made a few earrings (pics not included sorry)... Now I am working on this. Hopefully It should be done soon and I promise to show off to you guys! hehehehe!

That's it for now!

I hope you are having a pleasant start of the weekend!

Sultry Safari Makeup look

Have never been a fan of greens (worn as makeup) but I think I am starting to like it. Green does look great on brown skin. Just don't know why I always reached for blues, purples, pinks, etc...

Thanks to all my facebook friends for suggestion names for this look. I picked Sultry Safari. It really matched the look and I was feeling wild when I did this look.

It is my dream to go for a real Safari trip in Africa. Who knows, it might happen! Anyways, enough of the rambling. I hope you guys like this look.

Review: La Coquette Cosmetics (Etsy)

La Coquette cosmetics specializes in handcrafted mineral cosmetics. I think their eyeshadows are really pretty. They have a dual color effect. Super for someone who wants a fuss free eyeshadow application. They are best applied wet (foiling) and on a dark base in my opinion.

The owner was kind to offer a 20% off to my lovely viewers. Just include this discount code (UMAROCKS20) in your purchase.

Here are the swatches of some of the eyeshadows.
(I did not photograph the ones that came in baggies but you can see how they look on my video on Youtube)

The above were swatched using Mac painterly paintpot, NYX Milk and Black Bean jumbo pencil

Hope you are having a great week.

Disclaimer: YES, I got them for free.... That doesn't mean my opinion is bias. If I don't like them I usually return them back to the owner and get it out of my system. Don't like to waste my time making a video trashing companies for bad products. Unless, I paid with my hard earned money then that is a different story. LOL!

Wearable yellow look

I think I was inspired by one of Nikki Minaj music videos where she was wearing a bright yellow with very chalky pink lips. There a gazllion other Youtube Gurus who have done similar looks but I thought why not make this look more wearable. I made sure that it was super easy to recreate. So I hope you guys will give it a try.

Mac Pro longwear foundation and application demo

Mac pro long wear foundation has found a place in my favorites (snuggled in nicely with my NARs sheer glow foundation). It works well on my skin. I never broke out and it didn't turn orange or grey on my face (like many other foundation do!). In fact it looks so natural. Lasts for up to 12 hours without feeling overly greasy and heavy. Looks great on photos (including those using flash).

The only down side to it is that shade NC45 does not suit my skin tone as it is a tad lighter. However, with a little mixing of NC50, I am able to get the foundation to work on my tanned summer skin. Thanks to the MUA at Schiphol airport, I managed to save some money. She advised me to buy the NC50 concealer instead of buying a full size bottle of NC50 foundation. Since I only need a tiny drop of the NC50  for mixing, it made perfect sense.

With this foundation, you can go from light to full coverage. Very build-able!

I have a video review and demo if you would like to know more (see below).

Here are some pictures taken in various light settings!

I look stupid here! LOL! The works of my cameraman!

Hope you are having a wonderful week!

One of the best birthdays..... EVER!

I had the best birthday ever this year. My Mummy was in town. Which made it even more special. She came to Sweden all the way from Singapore and spent 10 precious days with me and my hubby.

We went to Paris and had a blast on my birthday (23 july). In Sweden, we spent everyday doing something. Either going out sight seeing or shopping (for me it was more window shopping). In 10 days, we did more then we would have done in a month or two in Singapore. It was so much fun. Today (the last day of her holiday), I had to say good bye and send her off at the airport. It is always very difficult to say good bye. Living far away from your family is never easy. Well, thank God for the great discovery of the internet, I can keep in touch with just a click of a button. If not, I think I would go insane!

My Mum and I have a strange relationship, we are more like friends. In fact many mistaken us for sisters. Even though we have had many issues and differences in the past, we always cared and loved each other very much.

Because of her, I am in existence. It was a tough journey but a worth while one. I really can't believe I am 30 years old. Looking forward to many many more wonderful years.

''Mum, I love you very much and I thank you for bringing me into this world. If it was not for you, I wouldn't have met the love of my life...!''

:)
